What is LOSWIFT™Lactulose?
Natural Sweetness, Enhanced Performance
LOSWIFT™Lactulose is produced by the isomerization of lactose under alkaline heating conditions. LOSWIFT™Lactulose contains four types of sugars: LOSWIFT™Lactulose (also known as Lactulose syrup, galactosyl-fructoside), lactose, galactose, and fructose. The functional component is LOSWIFT™Lactulose. The physiological functions and value of LOSWIFT™Lactulose as a food additive have been increasingly recognized, and it has been widely used in clinical treatment of constipation and hepatic encephalopathy. In recent years, it has been developed for various applications in the food field.
LOSWIFT™Lactulose is manufactured from lactose as raw material and is a mixed sugar solution with LOSWIFT™Lactulose as the main component, called lactulose solution. Currently commercially available lactulose solution contains over 50% lactulose, about 30% moisture, with other components being residual raw material lactose and a series of decomposition products such as fructose and galactose.
As a naturally occurring prebiotic carbohydrate, it has become a disruptive functional ingredient in the food industry, offering unique benefits beyond simple sweetness.
